The Family Wealth Alliance Privacy Notice
This Privacy Notice (“Notice”) describes how Family Wealth Alliance, Inc. (“The Family Wealth Alliance”, “FWA”, “we,” “our,” “us”) collects, uses, and discloses certain personal information obtained when you visit our website (“Site”) or enroll in services provided by us (together, the “Services”). By using our Services and providing us with personal information about you, you are agreeing to the terms of this Notice.
INFORMATION WE COLLECT
We collect personal information directly from you when you use our Services, including when you join FWA as a member or sponsor firm, visit our Site, register for or speak at our events, subscribe to our newsletters, participate in our research studies or surveys, or contact us. We may also collect information about you such as your name, email address, and phone number from our partners or other third parties if you were referred to us by them.
We also collect your personal information when you interact with our Services or otherwise browse the Site. In addition to the other uses detailed in this Notice, the information we collect is also used to improve the content of our Site and Services.
Member and sponsor registrations. When you join FWA as a member or sponsor and register with us, we collect personal information, including your name, company name, phone number, address(es) and email address, and the name of your referral if you choose to provide one.
Events and newsletter subscription. We collect registration details from you such as your name, email address, phone number, gender, dietary restrictions, and emergency contact information when you register to speak at or attend our events. Please review The Family Wealth Alliance’s Event Terms and Conditions, available at https://www.familywealthalliance.com/pages/eventpolicies, for additional details on the use and protection of the personal information we collect in these contexts. We also collect your name and email address when you subscribe to our monthly newsletter.
Transaction information. After a member or sponsor has registered with us, we may collect personal information about transactions with FWA, including membership and event ticket purchase history, and similar information relating to the account.
Other personal information collected through use of the Services. We collect information automatically when you use the Services, including when you browse our Site. The information we collect typically includes unique identifiers, browser type and settings, device types and settings, operating system, mobile network information including carrier name and phone number, and application version number. We also collect information about the interaction of your browsers and devices with our Site, such as IP address, device type, system activity, wireless carrier name (when you use a wireless or mobile device), and the date, time, and referrer URL of your request.
To the extent you use certain features of the Site, such as the “Contact Us” feature, we will collect the personal information you provide to us, which may include your name, company name, email address, and phone number.
Web logs. Web logs automatically record information and details about your online interactions with us. For example, web logs may record information about your visit to our Services on a particular time and day and collect information such as your device ID or IP address.
Cookies. When you visit our Site, our web server sends a “cookie” to your computer. A cookie is simply an electronically transmitted file that holds small pieces of information. When you navigate through our Site, your browser “requests” pages for you to view, and that request will include the information stored in the cookie we previously sent to your computer. This process is like an electronic “handshake” between our system and your computer. Where available, you may manage your cookie preferences through on-site cookie settings or your browser controls. There are two types of cookies: persistent and session-based.
Pixel tags. A pixel tag (also known as a web beacon, clear graphics interchange format (GIF), pixel, or tag) is an image or a small string of code that may be placed in an advertisement or email. It allows companies to set or read cookies or transfer information to their servers when you load a webpage or interact with online content. For example, on our Site and in emails we sometimes include a GIF. They allow us to keep your session active while you may be doing research so that you will not have to log in again when you return to our Site. In an email message, we may embed a GIF in the message that allows us, for example, to determine if your email reader is HTML capable or how fast your connection to the Internet is. This allows us to deliver content in a format most appropriate to your computer's capabilities.
Third-party plugins. Our Services may include plugins from other companies, including social media companies. These plugins may collect information, such as information about the pages you visit, and share it with the company that created the plugin even if you do not click on the plugin. Third-party plugins are governed by the privacy policies and terms of the companies that created them.
Aggregated and de-identified information. From time to time, we may also aggregate or de-identify information about your use of our Services, such as the pages you visit. Such aggregated information will not identify you personally.
